Know Before You Go
Schedule
Corpsmembers may work variable schedules depending on projects, typically working four 10-hour days Monday to Thursday.
Emergencies
Although rare, Veterans Fisheries Corpsmembers may be dispatched to emergencies. Participants must be willing to respond and be prepared for length assignments with little or no notice.
Eligibility
CCC enrolls veterans ages 18 to 29. Veterans Fisheries requires participants to have a DD214 and discharge of Honorable or General under Honorable Conditions.

Camarillo Center
Located in Ventura County, not far from several U.S. Navy facilities. the Camarillo Center typically hosts two to three veterans in the program.
Delta Center
Located in San Joaquin County, the Delta Center typically hosts two veterans in the program. Project work regularly takes Veterans Fisheries Corpsmembers, or Special Corpsmembers, to the Sacramento-San Joaquin River Delta.
Fortuna Center
Located in Humboldt County, the Fortuna Center typically hosts two veterans in the program. Project work takes Corpsmembers, or Special Corpsmembers, into the vast ecosystems of the Northstate where they work to restore fish species and habitat.
Los Padres Center
Located in San Luis Obispo County, the Los PadresC enter typically hosts two to three veterans in the program. Project work takes Corpsmembers, or Special Corpsmembers, across the Central Coast helping fish habitat and species.
Mendocino Center
Located in Mendocino County, the Mendocino Center in Willits typically hosts two veterans in the program. Project work takes Corpsmembers, or Special Corpsmembers, into the vast ecosystems of the Northstate where they work to restore fish species and habitat.

Can I serve in Cal Guard while enrolled in the CCC?
Yes, if you’re actively serving in Cal Guard in a reserve capacity you can enroll in the Veterans Corps Fisheries Program. Enrollees must meet the CCC’s age requirements.
Can I join if I'm in the Military Reserves?
Yes, you can join the CCC if you are still in the Military Reserves. The CCC values the skills and experience that military personnel bring to the program. However, you must be able to meet the CCC’s requirements, including being available to work outdoors in various conditions and respond to emergencies, which may require being away from home or your assigned center for two weeks or longer. Be sure to discuss your reserve commitments with your Recruiter to ensure that they can accommodate your schedule.
Do I need prior experience?
No prior experience is required to join the CCC Veterans Corps Fisheries Program. The CCC will pay you to train and help you get the certifications needed to launch a successful career.
If you are 26 to 29, you will need to provide a DD214 if you are a veteran. Active reservists or national guard members may be required to supply additional documentation.
