Overview

The California Conservation Corps partners with California State Parks, Caltrans, county and city departments, local school districts, and area non-profits to enhance the built environment. CCC Corpsmembers may complete a variety of projects such as building or maintaining park facilities, installing signage, retrofitting energy systems, creating defensible space, and reducing flood risk in communities.

Why We Work

Roads facilitate travel to and from adventures, lighting helps us navigate, trail signs and fencing keep visitors on the right path. Recognizing the importance of the built environment, CCC trains Corpsmembers to update and maintain these resources in a manner that support’s the well-being of of people and the surrounding environment.

Ask Us Anything

We know you have questions about CCC’s training program. Here are some of the common one’s we get related to the built environment. Have more questions? Give us a call!

Where can I work on energy projects?

For those interested in energy, CCC’s Sacramento, Fresno, Vista, and Norwalk centers may have opportunities available. While working on energy projects, please note that Corpsmembers’ schedules often switch. To complete energy surveys and lighting retrofits, crews typically work evening shifts when buildings are vacant.

Do I need prior experience?

No prior work experience is required to join the CCC, we will help you get trained and certified so you can launch a successful career.

Also, in terms of education, we have Corpsmembers who have college degrees, some who’ve attended college for some or no time, and some who need their high school diploma. You do not need a diploma nor a degree to join. Please note, if you have not obtained your high school diploma, while enrolled in the CCC you must work to earn one through our partnered charter schools.

I have a disability. Can I still join?

CCC can work with individuals to offer reasonable accommodations. If you have a disability that may impact your ability to participate in program activities, please talk with your recruiter.
