Local Conservation Corps (LCCs) are non-profit or local government entities that share a similar mission as the CCC by providing job skills training and educational opportunities while preserving and protecting the environment. The CCC has a long history of working collaboratively with LCCs through the state certification program and CCC grant programs.
LCCs must be certified by the State of California to be eligible for a variety of funding opportunities, including grants from the CCC and Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery. As part of the annual certification process, LCCs must meet the statutory criteria outlined in Public Resources Code section 14507.5 defining the elements of a “Community Conservation Corps”.
