“Even though it might be small, it does make a difference for the firefighters. I’m just happy that I get to do my part for the fire.”

At the height of the Eaton Fire in Los Angeles County, there were as many as eight CCC crews supporting the large-scale base camp at the Rose Bowl.

Split between our partners at CAL FIRE and U.S. Forest Service, these young adults from Pomona, San Diego, and others, put in long days keeping those on the fire lines equipped and fed.

For some, not only was it their first emergency, but it was also their first ever project with the CCC. All in all, it’s an experience they’ll never forget.
