As the Eaton Fire approached homes and critical infrastructure in its first few days, CCC Tahoe fire crews were there putting in hand line.
Over the course of the fire’s first week, Tahoe 1 and 2 worked 24-hour shifts putting in fire breaks, cold line, and working hot line from spot fires.
The reason why they put in so much hard work—including difficult terrain and thick, difficult vegetation—was apparent every day as they drove the fire’s edge; they were there to protect people’s homes.
